Release Notes

The 1099 Pro Service Bureau will not include the 1099-NEC as part of the Combined Federal State Filing Program (CF/SF). To complete 1099-NEC state filing via the Service Bureau, you must purchase the additional 1099-NEC state filing service (details here).

Many states that implemented their own 1099-NEC filing mandates are still requiring state direct filing instead of allowing filers to use the IRS CF/SF Program. This is because most states have already built their reporting portals and direct reporting provides the data to states earlier in the year which is a critical tool in combating tax fraud.

New and improved:

We enabled Electronic Filing for all forms (Enterprise Only).
We enabled State Electronic Filing for all forms (Enterprise Only).
We enabled the Service Bureau for all forms.
We enabled Paper Filing for all forms.
For the 1099-PATR, we added the following validation: Rule R04 invalid credit/deduction type.
We added the latest eFileViewer, see eFileViewer v2021.12.18 Release Notes.
In the Service Bureau Upload Wizard, we renamed the Web Presentment service to Online Access Only. (ENTERPRISE-2092)
On the Iowa (IA) W-2, we removed the BEN number from the file name and RV record.

- RV Record, Positions 40-47: Zero Fill
On the Iowa (IA) 1099, we removed the BEN number from the file name and RV record.

Bug fixes:

Previously, the 1099-R was getting import errors during the post phase. We fixed this issue.
The 1099-OID Box 1 description now matches the IRS form.
On the Export Wizard home screen, the tax year is now correct (2021).
Previously, the export map for the 1098-F was incorrectly including Rcp Print Lines 1-6. We fixed this issue. (ENTERPRISE-2089)
The 1099-MISC Rule R16 description now has the current tax year (2021).
On the 1099-PATR, the 1096 Wizard was calculating totals incorrectly. We fixed this issue.(ENTERPRISE-2110)
On the Backup Tool About screen, debug text was incorrectly displaying. We fixed this issue. (ENTERPRISE-2070)
Previously, on the W-2G, rules were not triggering during import loading. We fixed this issue. (ENTERPRISE-2062)
We fixed the following Printing issues:
- The filer's phone number was printing on the wrong line on the 1099-NEC Copy A.
- The 1099-NEC - Blank Stock Combined Copy - Box 5 amount alignment.
- The 1099-S - ACL - N11EZ & 5145 - Optional message alignment.
- The 1042-S - ACL - Alternate Comb - Missing WMF error.
- On the 1099-MISC Combined Copy, we updated alignments and changed the form name from Miscellaneous Income to Miscellaneous Information. (ENTERPRISE-1996)
- The 1099-PATR - ACL N11EZ - Box 13 check alignment. (ENTERPRISE-2090)
We fixed the following Reports issues:
- The Forms Issued for Recipients Report was not working for the 1099-NEC. (PROFESSIONAL-211)
- The Control Totals Report was incorrectly printing 1 recipient per page when the ALL option was selected for the 1099-DIV. (ENTERPRISE-2088)
- For the 1099-MISC, the Box 11 Amount field was missing in the Custom Report fields. (ENTERPRISE-2077)

If you receive the following error when running 1099 Pro after the update, you will need to manually update your 1099 Pro data files:

Follow these steps to manually update your 1099 Pro data files:

Download this Fix1099.exe file and move it to your Pro99T21 folder.
Run the Fix1099.exe file.
Click the OK button.
