Important

Many states that implemented their own 1099-NEC filing mandates are still requiring state direct filing instead of allowing filers to use the IRS CF/SF Program. This is because most states have already built their reporting portals and direct reporting provides the data to states earlier in the year, which is a critical tool in combating tax fraud.

  • 1099-K threshold - In late December 2022, the IRS released guidance that the implementation of the reduced $600 threshold for 1099-K reporting will be delayed until tax year 2023. As a result, the federal threshold for the 1099-K reporting for tax year 2022 will stay at $20,000 and 200 transactions.


New and improved:

  • We enabled Electronic Filing for all forms. (Enterprise Only)
  • We enabled printing, mailing, electronic filing, and Bulk TIN uploads in the Service Bureau.
  • CSFS Filing (Electronic Filing & Service Bureau) - We added the 1099-NEC to CSFS filing for the following states: 
    • Arkansas (AR), California (CA), Hawaii (HI), Idaho (ID), Maryland (MD), Michigan (MI), Montana (MO), Nebraska (NE), New Jersey (NJ), and Oklahoma (OK).
  • We added the latest eFileViewer, see eFileViewer v2021.12.15 Release Notes. 
  • We added the 2022 Forms 3921 & 3922 Fomin Reports.
  • We added the new 2022 IRS Instructions for W-2G and 1099-PATR.
  • State Filing - We increased the Oregon (OR) electronic file filename maximum amount of characters by 1. (ENTERPRISE-2245)


Bug fixes:

  • We fixed an issue with 1099-PATR Box 12 text alignment when printing.
  • In the Welcome Wizard, we fixed a typo from "Indentification" to "Identification". (PROFESSIONAL-224) 
  • Previously, the 1099-NEC Box 2 checkbox was missing from the list of available fields on custom reports. We fixed this issue. (ENTERPRISE-1963)
  • We fixed an issue with rules not triggering during W-2G import. (ENTERPRISE-2062)
