Release Notes

The 1099 Pro Service Bureau will not include the 1099-NEC as part of the Combined Federal State Filing Program (CF/SF).  In order to perform 1099-NEC state filing, via the Service Bureau, customers must purchase the additional 1099-NEC state filing service (details here).

Many states, that implemented their own 1099-NEC filing mandates, are still requiring state direct filing as opposed to allowing filers to use the IRS CF/SF Program.  This is because most states have already built their reporting portals and direct reporting provides the data to states earlier in the year which is a critical tool in combating tax fraud.



UPDATED:

  • Service Bureau:
    • Upload Confirmation Sheet - Action verbiage updated to - Printed, Mailed with Online Access. (CS-3484)
    • Iowa (IA) 1099s and W-2 State filing is no longer supported in Service Bureau. (CS-3487)
    • West Virgina (WV) State filing is no longer supported in Service Bureau.
    • Alabam (AL) - Updated the state's special processing to include Copy 1 pdf file to be included. (CS-3198)
  • State Filing:
    • 1099-NEC, 1099-MISC, 1099-R - Pennsylvania (PA) CSV file new limit is now 25,000 line items or 20MB file size. (cs-3480)
  • Business Rules & Validation:
    • State Filing - Michigan (MI) 1099-NEC CFS Exception Threshold added
  • Audit Trail:
    • Reset/Void of Service Bureau, Print, and eFile sessions are now included in Audit Trail. (CS-3227)
  • Printing:
    • 1042-S - ACL/PS Custom layout for combined copies added. 


FIXED:

  • General:
    • Filer - Filer email update created a duplicate entry that caused an error. (CS3492)
  • Printing:
    • 1099-NEC  
      • State Subset Filing was printing Copy C for Payer instead of Copy 1 for State.  (CS-3485)
      • Pressure Seal NEC5113 print alignment issues. 
    • 1099-MISC
      • Pressure Seal MW353 print alignment issues. 
    • 1099-B - Amount/Totals Report pagination 
    • 1099-R - IRA age is now current at 72 per IRS instructions. (CS-3493)
    • 1099-R - Instructions for Recipient Codes 8 and R text had previous year.
    • W-2G - Correction - Pressure Seal layout - Optional message print alignment. (CS-3489)
  • Electronic Filing:
    • 1099-MISC - A Record was missing Code F for prior year filing. (CS-3497)
    • Puerto Rico (PR) - Processing with Grouped by EIN filter with high volume of filers was causing no records to be processed. (CS-3499)
  • State Filing:
    • 1099-NEC - Illinois (IL) - Removed K record from the electronic file since the state does not participate in the CFS program. (CS-3509)
    • 1099-NEC - Creating state subset forms was processing a Copy C instead of Copy 1. (CS-3485)
